The Mayson
Brass, concrete and green plants inside an old dock building, with a roof terrace that looks straight down the Liffey.
North Wall Quay lines the north bank of the Liffey, where Dublin's port once worked. The Mayson stitches a former dockside building to a new extension, finished in concrete and brass and softened with plenty of plants.
Up on the roof a terrace looks over the river, and the morning meal comes from a café that locals use as well, so mornings feel like part of the neighbourhood rather than a hotel dining room.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose The Mayson
We picked The Mayson for its attention to detail at a sensible price. The design is thoughtful without being precious, and it suits travellers who notice materials and light and want a modern room for less than the centre charges.
The quay is quiet once the offices empty. To reach Temple Bar or Grafton Street you cross the river and walk a while, so if you want pubs and street life at the door, stay further west.
