Picolo recommends · Hotel in Hong Kong, China
The Murray
Tall concrete arches frame the entrance of a 1960s government tower, now a design hotel with Hong Kong Park on one side and Central on the other.
The first thing you notice is the arches: tall, curved openings at the base of the building that were kept when the old offices became a hotel. Trees from Hong Kong Park reach almost to the door.
Inside, the style is clean and modern, and the pace is calmer than down in Central. On the roof, a bar looks out over the city towers and the green slopes behind them.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose The Murray
This is our design pick. It feels distinct from the glass towers around it, and the location between the park and Central gives you both greenery and the city within a short walk.
It is a stylish city hotel, not a resort, so anyone wanting big pools or harbour views from every room should look elsewhere. The streets around it are steep, which matters if you walk a lot.
