Regent Hong Kong

  • Harbourfront
  • Renovated rooms
  • Star Ferry
  • Skyline views
  • Promenade

Wake up and the whole Hong Kong Island skyline fills the window, with ferries crossing the harbour only a few metres below.

From the window, the harbour looks close enough to touch. Boats slide past all day, and in the evening the towers on the island side start to glow one by one.

The Regent came back after a thorough renovation, and the rooms now feel light and modern rather than grand. Outside the door is the waterfront promenade, with the Star Ferry pier a short stroll along it.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose Regent Hong Kong

No hotel on the Kowloon side sits closer to the water. If the view is the reason you came to Hong Kong, this is where you get the most of it from your own room.

The style is contemporary and calm, so anyone hoping for old colonial glamour should look at The Peninsula instead. Rooms without a harbour view miss the main point of staying here, so check the category before you book.

What you get

  • Large windows facing the harbour
