Grand Hyatt Hong Kong
An outdoor pool big enough to swim proper lengths, surrounded by skyscrapers on the Wan Chai waterfront, with Kowloon across the water.
The pool deck is the surprise. In a city this tight on space, there is room here for a properly large outdoor pool, with towers rising on every side and the sky open above.
The hotel stands beside the convention centre on the Wan Chai waterfront. Many rooms look across the harbour to Kowloon, and there is a spa and a long list of restaurants for evenings when nobody wants to go out.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Grand Hyatt Hong Kong
This is our family pick. Children get the pool, adults get the spa, and everyone gets a central location with space to breathe. Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are on the doorstep.
The metro is not right outside: you reach it through covered walkways, which takes a few minutes. The convention centre next door also means the hotel fills with business travellers when big trade fairs are on.
