Herodion Hotel
Hot tubs on the roof, so close to the Parthenon that you can make out the visitors circling the temple.
Sink into a hot tub on the roof and the Parthenon rises almost level with you, close enough to see the figures moving among its columns. Below, the street is quiet, lined with cafés rather than bars.
The hotel is on Rovertou Galli, just behind the Acropolis Museum. From here the pedestrian walkway of Dionysiou Areopagitou leads up to the Acropolis gates in a few minutes, so you can be there when it opens.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Herodion Hotel
We like it for couples who want calm and a striking view without paying Syntagma rates. Rooms are neutral and well kept, and the roof terrace makes even an ordinary evening feel like an event.
Evenings here are about the view, not the nightlife. If you want bars and noise outside the door, base yourself in Monastiraki or Psyrri instead. Rooms are pleasant but not where the character lies.
