THE FLAG Hotel
An adults-only hotel between Estepona and Marbella, where the pool out front and a nearby golf course set the pace of the day.
No children at the pool, a round of golf down the road and a spa for the afternoon. THE FLAG lies on the stretch of coast east of Estepona, heading towards Marbella, close to the Selwo wildlife park.
The hotel has a garden and a terrace, and the pool sits in front of the building. Guest scores are among the highest in the area, and the whole set-up is aimed at couples and grown-up friends who want an easy, calm base.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose THE FLAG Hotel
We chose THE FLAG for couples and adult travellers who want calm on the Costa del Sol. It is adults only, has its own spa and puts golf within easy reach, with Marbella and Puerto Banús close enough for a night out.
You need a car here. The hotel is not in a town, so restaurants and evening life mean a drive to Estepona or Marbella. It is also a long way from Gibraltar, so treat the Rock as an occasional day trip at most.
