Sunborn Gibraltar
You walk up a gangway to check in: Sunborn is a luxury hotel on a big ship that stays tied up at the quay in Ocean Village.
From the top deck, the Rock fills the sky on one side and the masts of the marina fill the other. The ship never sails, so there is no rocking, just the feeling of sleeping on the water.
Below deck you find a spa, a casino and two restaurants. Step off the gangway and the bars and terraces of Ocean Village are right there, with the Spanish border a short ride away.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Sunborn Gibraltar
We picked it because nowhere else in Gibraltar feels like this. It works well for couples and for a short break where the hotel itself is part of the story.
If you came for old Gibraltar, this is the modern marina side of town, and the evenings around Ocean Village can be loud. It is also one of the pricier beds on the Rock.
