Hotel Admiral Casino and Lodge
A garden, a pool and a casino on the Spanish side, with the Rock of Gibraltar a short drive across the border.
In the evening the pool at the Admiral is lit up and the garden goes quiet. Gibraltar is around a quarter of an hour away by car, but here you are in Spain, with more room to breathe.
The hotel has a casino, a bar, a garden and a pool. Alcaidesa Links, a golf course with views of the Rock, is close by, which makes it easy to mix a round with a day across the border.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Hotel Admiral Casino and Lodge
We like the Admiral as a calm base for Gibraltar. You usually get more space for less money than inside the territory, and you can drive in for the day and come back to peace and quiet.
You will need a car. There is little to walk to from the hotel, and the border crossing can be slow at busy times, so allow extra time on days you head into Gibraltar.
