The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa
Freshly renovated overwater bungalows looking towards Otemanu, with a swim-up bar and a beach close to Matira Point in the south.
Everything still has that just-finished feel: crisp decks, new furniture, a pool bar you can swim up to. The Westin reopened in 2024 after a major renovation, and the overwater bungalows look across the lagoon to Otemanu.
It sits near Matira Point at the southern tip of the island, with a beach, a spa and a pool. A free boat runs guests to and from the airport, which makes arriving easy.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa
We chose the Westin for those who want the overwater bungalow and the mountain view without paying the very top prices. It is newer than many of its neighbours, and it shows.
It is a large resort, and bungalows close to shore get more passing traffic. Ask for one at the far end of the pontoon. Those looking for an intimate, small hotel feel should look elsewhere.
