Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée
A white stone casino front on the Promenade des Anglais, and above it a terrace where the pool faces nothing but the Baie des Anges.
Walk along the Promenade des Anglais and the Palais de la Méditerranée makes you look up: a pale art deco frontage carved with reliefs, the last piece left of the casino that once stood here. Step through it and the hotel is entirely of today, arranged around a wide terrace raised above the traffic.
Up there the outdoor pool looks across the bay, and an indoor pool waits next to it for the days when the wind picks up off the sea. The old town lies one way along the seafront, the Carré d'Or and its shops the other.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée
We chose it as the easiest family base on the seafront. The rooms give you space to spread out, the pools solve the problem of a pebble beach, and you can walk to both the old town and the smarter shopping streets.
It is a large international hotel, and it feels like one. If you want French character, a small house and staff who learn your name within a day, look at the old town or Castle Hill instead.
What you get
