Step out of the door and you are in the lanes of Vieux Nice, a few paces from the cathedral square and its ice cream queue.
Morning in Vieux Nice, the old town, begins with shutters rattling up and handcarts in the lanes. Hôtel Rossetti sits in the middle of it, a short way from Place Rossetti, where the baroque cathedral and the Fenocchio ice cream counter share a small square.
It is a little house with only a few rooms, kept light and uncomplicated. There is no grand lobby and no view to speak of, but the Cours Saleya market, the restaurants and the seafront are all a short wander away through the lanes.
