Hôtel La Pérouse
Rooms stacked up the rock below Castle Hill, a pool among lemon trees, and the whole curve of the Baie des Anges spread out beneath you.
From the upper terraces the promenade sweeps west in a long pale line and the sea fills the rest. La Pérouse is cut into the rock at the foot of Castle Hill, the wooded headland at the eastern end of the bay, and its rooms rise up the cliff level by level.
The door opens onto Quai Rauba Capeu, yet once inside, traffic and crowds fall away. Partway up the rock there is a garden with lemon trees and a small pool, and the old town's restaurants are only a few steps round the corner.

Why we chose Hôtel La Pérouse
This is our pick for two people and a long weekend. You get the view most hotels in Nice can only describe, real calm in the evening, and the old town close by when you want noise and dinner.
The building follows the cliff, so expect stairs and changes of level throughout. Rooms differ a lot in size and outlook, from compact to large with a terrace, so check exactly which category you are booking.
What you get
