Arctic TreeHouse Hotel
Wooden suites raised among the pines outside Rovaniemi, each with a wall of glass that frames the snowy forest and, with luck, the northern lights.
It is mid-afternoon in December and already dark, and the only light outside the window is snow on the pines. From the bed, you look straight into the Lapland forest through a wall of glass.
The suites at Arctic TreeHouse are built as separate units on a wooded slope, so each one feels private. Rovaniemi lies on the Arctic Circle, and the town is a popular base for winter trips in Finnish Lapland.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Arctic TreeHouse Hotel
We chose it for the view from the bed. Few hotels in Lapland let you watch the forest, and on clear nights the sky, without stepping outside into the cold.
This is a pricey stay, and the hotel is outside the town centre, so plan on taxis or a hire car. Northern lights are never guaranteed, and cloudy weeks happen even in peak season.
