Hotel St. George
Contemporary art in every public room, a bakery of its own and a view of the old wooden church through the trees.
Rain on the windows, something sweet from the bakery and an afternoon spent wandering past paintings and sculpture without leaving the building. St. George is the rare city hotel that gives you a reason to stay in.
Upstairs, rooms are light and restrained, with warm materials and very comfortable beds. The best of them face the park around the Old Church, a wooden church that is among the oldest in the city, and they get both daylight and greenery.

Why we chose Hotel St. George
This is our design pick in Helsinki. The art collection, the calm rooms and the spa add up to a hotel with a clear point of view, and it rewards the kind of traveller who notices the chair as well as the view.
You pay for it: rates are among the highest in the city. Families with young children may find the mood a little too hushed, and if you only need a bed between sightseeing, the extras are wasted on you.
