Hotel Kämp
Marble, chandeliers and tall windows over the Esplanadi park: Helsinki's grand old hotel still does the classic version of luxury.
Step in from the cold and the noise of the city drops away. The salons rise to high ceilings, the chandeliers are lit by mid-afternoon in winter, and the rooms upstairs are dressed in soft, quiet colours with nothing to prove.
Kämp holds the north side of the Esplanadi, the long park that runs from the Swedish Theatre down to the harbour. Shops line the avenues outside, and Market Square, the cathedral and the Design District are all within a short stroll.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Hotel Kämp
We chose Kämp because it is the address Helsinki has long trusted for big occasions, and it still delivers: proper service, generous public rooms and a spa that turns a grey day around. For an anniversary or a first weekend away together, it is the safe, polished choice.
The style is traditional from lobby to bedroom. If you have come to Finland for clean lines and modern Nordic design, you will find more of that in the smaller hotels of the Design District. Rates also reflect the address.

Open in MapsQuestions about Hotel Kämp
Does Hotel Kämp have a spa?
Yes. There is a spa in the hotel with a traditional Finnish sauna, a good way to warm up after a day walking around the city in the cold.
Where is Hotel Kämp in Helsinki?
On the north side of the Esplanadi in the city centre, with Market Square, the harbour and the main shopping streets all within walking distance.
Is Hotel Kämp a good choice in winter?
Arguably its best season. The spa and the warm salons make a dark afternoon indoors easy, and Senate Square with its Christmas market is only a few minutes away in December.
