Clarion Hotel Helsinki

  • Rooftop pool
  • Sea views
  • Family pick
  • Jätkäsaari
  • Tallinn ferries

Swim on the roof with the Baltic spread out below, then watch the evening ferries slide out towards Tallinn as the sun goes down.

Late on a summer evening the roof is the place to be. The pool and bar look straight out over the islands, the ferries come and go below, and the sun sinks into the sea rather than behind another building. Few hotels in the city have anything like it.

Clarion stands tall on Jätkäsaari, a newer district built on the old docks by the West Harbour. Many rooms have sea views, and the larger ones give families space to spread out. The historic centre is a tram ride away, or a long walk along the waterfront.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose Clarion Hotel Helsinki

This is our family pick in Helsinki. A pool on the roof keeps children happy, the rooms have space for everyone, and it is an easy choice if you are combining Helsinki with a trip to Tallinn.

You are outside the old city. Market Square, the cathedral and the Esplanadi need a tram ride, and the immediate area is newer and more residential than atmospheric. If you want to step out of the door into historic Helsinki, stay in the centre.

What you get

Questions about Clarion Hotel Helsinki

Does Clarion Hotel Helsinki have a pool?

Yes, there is a pool on the roof alongside a bar, both with views over the sea and the islands beyond the West Harbour.

How do I get from Clarion Hotel Helsinki to the city centre?

Trams run from Jätkäsaari into the centre, which is the easiest option. You can also walk along the waterfront, but allow time, as it is a fair distance.

Is Clarion Hotel Helsinki handy for the Tallinn ferry?

Yes. Ferries to Tallinn leave from the West Harbour on Jätkäsaari, close to the hotel, which makes it a practical base before or after a day trip across the gulf.
