Picolo recommends · Hotel in the Mamanuca Islands, Fiji
Lomani Island Resort
A handful of suites by the sand, a pool among the garden palms and a kayak waiting on the beach whenever you feel like the reef.
Lomani is small enough that the staff learn your name within a day. Suites and bures, the Fijian term for bungalows, line the beach, and the pool sits in a green garden a few steps back from the water.
The island it shares, Malolo Lailai, also has a marina and several other resorts. That means you can stroll to a different restaurant for dinner, which is rare in the Mamanucas, and come back to a hotel where only adults stay.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Lomani Island Resort
We like Lomani as a gentler-priced choice for couples who want the calm of an adults-only stay without paying for an overwater bure. It is personal and relaxed.
Do not expect the polish or the private pools of the big luxury resorts. The neighbouring hotels and the marina also make the island busier than Tokoriki or Likuliku, so true seclusion it is not.
