Likuliku Lagoon Resort

  • Overwater bures
  • Adults only
  • Fijian-owned
  • Snorkelling
  • Honeymoon

Fish gather under your deck, the ladder drops straight into the lagoon, and the only sound at night is the water against the stilts.

A bure is the Fijian word for a bungalow, and Likuliku was the first resort in the country to set them out over the water. From the deck you look down into a lagoon so clear that the reef fish are part of the view.

On the sand behind, thatched beach bures follow traditional Fijian design. The resort belongs to Fijian owners and takes no children, so the days pass slowly, between the lagoon, the pool and long dinners.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose Likuliku Lagoon Resort

This is where we would send a honeymoon couple in Fiji. The service is warm, the setting is calm, and few places let you swim from your own steps into water this clear.

It is one of the most expensive stays in the Mamanucas, and food comes on a set meal package. Families are not allowed, and anyone after nightlife or a choice of restaurants will find it quiet.

What you get

  • Overwater bures with steps into the lagoon
  • Thatched beach bures in Fijian style
  • Snorkelling straight from the deck
  • Meals on a full package
  • Adults-only, attentive service

Questions about Likuliku Lagoon Resort

Is Likuliku Lagoon Resort adults-only?

Yes. Likuliku does not accept children, which keeps the mood quiet and makes it a strong choice for couples and honeymoons.

Which bure should I ask for at Likuliku Lagoon Resort?

Ask for an overwater bure at the far end of the row. Those at the end have fewer neighbours and the most privacy on the deck.

Are meals included at Likuliku Lagoon Resort?

Meals are sold as a package on top of the room, so budget for that when you compare prices with other resorts in Fiji.
