Steigenberger ALDAU

  • Beach
  • Large pools
  • Spa
  • Gardens
  • Near the airport

Arches, domes and courtyards that look like a desert palace, with the pools stepping down through the gardens to the Red Sea.

Step out of the lobby and the first thing you see is water: one pool after another, framed by arches and palms, with the sea at the far end of the garden. The architecture borrows from old palaces, and it makes a big resort feel less like a block of rooms.

The hotel sits on the beach a little south of central Hurghada. That puts the airport close for arrival day, and the restaurants and boats of the marina within a quick taxi ride when you want an evening away from the resort.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose Steigenberger ALDAU

We chose it as the safe first booking in Hurghada. The beach is good, the spa is generous, and the location gives you a quiet resort by day with the town close enough for dinner out.

This is a large hotel, so expect busy pools in the school holidays. The coral right off the beach is modest, and serious snorkellers will want to book a boat trip out to the islands.

What you get

  • Beach in front of the gardens
  • Several large pools
  • Large spa
  • Gardens running down to the sea
  • Short drive from Hurghada airport

Questions about Steigenberger ALDAU

Is Steigenberger ALDAU good for snorkelling?

The reef right off the beach is limited. Most guests get their best snorkelling on a day trip by boat, which is easy to arrange in Hurghada.

How far is Steigenberger ALDAU from Hurghada marina?

The marina is a short taxi ride north. It is the easy choice for an evening of restaurants, cafes and a walk along the boats.

Is Steigenberger ALDAU suitable for families?

Yes. Plenty of pools, a sandy beach and a quick airport transfer make it work well for families, as well as for couples on a first visit.
