Baron Palace
Marble floors, crystal chandeliers and domed ceilings, then a vast pool area that carries you all the way down to the beach.
Nothing about the lobby is understated. Chandeliers hang under the domes, the floors shine with marble, and the scale is closer to a royal residence than a beach hotel. You either love it on sight or find it a bit much.
Behind the grand entrance, the pools spread out in one long sweep towards the sand. Rooms are big and richly furnished, and the all-inclusive package means you rarely need to leave the grounds of the Sahl Hasheesh resort.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Baron Palace
We like it for travellers who want room to breathe on an all-inclusive holiday. The pools are large, the beach is good, and the reef off the shore gives you proper snorkelling without a boat.
The décor is ornate, and if you prefer clean lines and natural materials it will feel heavy. For a calmer, more design-led stay, The Chedi in El Gouna or The Oberoi nearby are closer to that taste.
