Le Palais Art Hotel Prague
Painted ceilings up the staircase, a terrace where birdsong beats traffic, and Prague spread out below a quiet street in Vinohrady.
The morning starts with birds rather than tour groups. Le Palais stands on U Zvonařky, a calm street where Vinohrady drops away towards the city, and the terrace looks out over rooftops instead of crowds.
Inside, the belle époque villa keeps its frescoes and art on the way up the stairs. The hotel is compact, with its own spa, and the neighbourhood around it is where Prague lives: wide streets, parks, cafés and some of the best wine bars in town.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Le Palais Art Hotel Prague
We chose it for anyone who has seen the Old Town and wants a different Prague. The villa is calm and characterful, and the restaurants of Vinohrady give you better evenings than most of the centre.
This is not the hotel for a first visit. Getting to Wenceslas Square means a short tram ride or a twenty-minute walk, and the Old Town and the castle are further still.
