Coral Estate Luxury Resort
Walk down the slope from your villa, put on a mask at the water's edge and the coral starts a few fin strokes from the shore.
The hillside drops towards turquoise water, with villas and apartments stepping down it in rows. At the bottom is a small beach, and just beyond the swimming area the reef begins, so a dive here starts with a short walk rather than a boat ride.
Coral Estate is on the west coast at Rif St. Marie, well away from the bustle of Willemstad. The resort runs its own dive centre and spa, and the days take on a slow rhythm of water, shade and sunsets.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Coral Estate Luxury Resort
We chose it for divers and snorkellers who want the reef on their doorstep. Having a dive centre on site and coral right offshore means more time underwater, and the quiet coast suits anyone who wants to unwind.
Willemstad is roughly thirty minutes away by car, and without a hire car you will feel stuck. If you want restaurants and nightlife within walking distance, choose a hotel in town instead.
