Sit by the pool in the evening and the lights of Hamilton come on across the harbour. Newstead Belmont Hills is on the quieter, southern side of the water in Paget, close enough to see the town and far enough not to hear it.
The hotel has a pool, a spa and two restaurants, and the Belmont Hills course lies right beside it for golfers. A short ferry crossing takes you into Hamilton, and Elbow Beach is the nearest of the south shore beaches.

We chose Newstead for travellers who want calm without being cut off. It works especially well for golfers, and the ferry makes evenings in Hamilton easy without a taxi each way.
There is no beach at the hotel, so sand and surf mean a taxi to the south shore. It is also a quieter, more grown-up place, and families who want a beach on the doorstep will do better at the big resorts.
