Picolo recommends · Hotel in Brussels, Belgium
Steigenberger Wiltcher's
A big hotel on Avenue Louise with room to spread out and a pool waiting at the end of the day, a rarity in this city.
After hours among the Atomium spheres and the models at Mini-Europe, the children head straight for the pool while you head for the spa. Steigenberger Wiltcher's makes that simple, and it is one of the few hotels in Brussels where it is possible at all.
The building takes up a broad stretch of Avenue Louise, the city's smartest shopping street. Rooms are spacious, the tram stops just outside, and the Grand-Place is about fifteen minutes away by tram or metro.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Steigenberger Wiltcher's
This is our family pick. Large rooms, a calm atmosphere and a pool are a combination Brussels rarely offers, and it takes the stress out of travelling with children in a city of narrow pavements.
The feel is more international business hotel than Belgian character, and you will need public transport to reach the old centre. Couples looking for atmosphere may prefer a smaller place downtown.
