The Royal at Atlantis

  • Aquaventure
  • Aquariums
  • Families
  • Casino
  • Several beaches

Two pink towers linked high up by a bridge, with water slides, a slow river and shark tanks all a lift ride below your room.

The children are awake before you, faces pressed to the window, counting slides. From a high floor of The Royal you look down on pools, lagoons and the sea, and the bridge between the two towers frames the whole resort.

This is the hotel in the middle of Atlantis, so Aquaventure, the aquariums, the beaches and the casino are all part of the stay. Many families never leave the grounds, and it is easy to see the week vanish into the lazy river.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose The Royal at Atlantis

For a holiday where the children set the agenda, few places in the region come close. The water park fills days on its own, and the aquariums are a good escape when the midday sun is too strong for another round of slides.

Atlantis is vast and crowded, and eating here costs a lot. Couples looking for calm will find it tiring. Book a high floor facing the sea, and keep a few meals off site to stop the bill running away.

What you get

  • Access to the Aquaventure water park
  • Large aquariums across the resort
  • Several beaches to choose from
  • Built around families and children
  • Casino in the same complex

Questions about The Royal at Atlantis

Do guests at The Royal at Atlantis get into Aquaventure?

Yes. A stay at The Royal lets you into Aquaventure, the resort water park with slides and lazy river, so there is no separate ticket to buy.

Which rooms are quietest at The Royal at Atlantis?

Ask for a high floor with a sea view. Lower rooms over the pools pick up music and shouting from the water park during the day.

Is The Royal at Atlantis good for couples?

It can work, but the resort is built for families and is busy most of the year. Couples after calm will find The Ocean Club down the island far quieter.
