Park Hyatt Vienna
A grand former bank on a quiet old-town square, where the swimming pool sits in the vault that once held the money.
Am Hof is a broad, calm square in the Innere Stadt, Vienna's historic core inside the Ring. Park Hyatt occupies the imposing former headquarters of a bank on one corner, and the building's solid stone and high ceilings have been kept.
The surprise is downstairs. The old vault has been turned into a pool with gold-toned walls, part of the hotel spa. Upstairs, rooms are spacious and quiet, and the Graben and the Hofburg are only minutes away.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Park Hyatt Vienna
We like Park Hyatt for travellers who want modern luxury with a sense of place. The building tells a story, the rooms are generous by old-town standards, and the location puts the main sights at your feet.
It is expensive, and Am Hof is quiet after dark, with few bars or cafés open late on the square itself. Travellers who want buzz outside the door may feel the evenings are subdued.
