Picolo recommends · Hotel on Eagle Beach, Aruba
Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort
A grown-up resort on Eagle Beach where the evening plan is a shaded hut, a table on the sand and nothing louder than the surf.
Late afternoon on Eagle Beach, the light softens and the huts along the sand throw long shadows. At Bucuti & Tara there are no children running past and no music from a pool deck, just couples reading and the wind in the palms.
The resort has built its name on two things: calm, and a serious approach to sustainability. Meals can be taken on the beach itself, so the walk from your sunbed to dinner is barely a few steps.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort
We picked Bucuti & Tara as our romantic choice in Aruba. Few resorts on the island are this deliberately quiet, and the location on Eagle Beach gives you one of the finest stretches of sand in the Caribbean right outside.
If you want a casino, a lively bar scene or a large pool to swim lengths in, look elsewhere. Rooms go fast in the winter season, so plan well ahead if you are travelling between December and April.

Is Bucuti & Tara adults only?
Yes. The resort only takes adult guests, which is a large part of why it is so popular with couples and honeymooners looking for a calm stay on Eagle Beach.
Does Bucuti & Tara have a casino or nightlife?
No. There is no casino and no nightlife on site. For bars and late evenings, head to Palm Beach or Oranjestad, both a taxi ride away.
When should I book Bucuti & Tara?
As early as you can for the winter months. December to April is the busiest period, and a resort this popular with couples fills well in advance.
