A spa with mountain views
The relaxation room in the spa at Skarsnuten looks straight out at the mountains.
Darkness falls early up here. From your table in the restaurant you see the lights of the village far below, and the slopes light up one after another. Your skis are in the ski room one floor down, and tomorrow morning you will be first on the piste.
High above the valley
The hotel stands on Skarsnuten, in the upper part of Hemsedal ski centre. You clip into your skis outside and ski straight down the slope, and ski rental is in the same building. The drive from Oslo takes about three hours.
Rooms and apartments
Skarsnuten has 88 rooms, from singles to suites. If you are a larger group or want to cook for yourselves, there are apartments in separate buildings next to the hotel.
A spa with a view
The spa has saunas and an ice pool for the brave, and from the relaxation room you look straight out at the mountains. After a day on the slopes, this is where most guests end up.

Dinner above the valley
From the restaurant at Skarsnuten you see the lights of Hemsedal far below.
The restaurants and the bar
The hotel has two restaurants. Lynx serves Nordic food with an Italian touch, and the other has a Japanese-Nordic kitchen. The bar has a wine cellar and a terrace where you can sit out in the sun on fine spring days. The hotel also has its own cinema.
Is Skarsnuten right for you?
Skarsnuten suits couples and adults who want a quiet stay high up on the slopes. If you want more life and a bigger pool, Fyri Resort further down in Hemsedal is a better choice.

Before you book
Book early for Easter. Long, light days make Easter high season up here.
Choose an apartment if you are a group. You get a kitchen and more space.
Bring a warm winter jacket. It is windier at over a thousand metres than down in the valley.
