Trysil: skiing in Norway’s biggest ski resort and where to stay

Wide pistes, ski-in/ski-out lodging and just a few hours from Oslo. This is Trysil, Norway’s biggest ski resort, and the hotels where the whole family gets an easy, happy ski holiday.

Sometimes a ski holiday does not need a long journey. In Trysil the mountain is wide, the pistes are many and the distances are short, which is exactly why it is so loved. Here the children can take their first run on the nursery slope while the grown-ups pick up speed on the long pistes, and in the evening everyone gathers by the fire.

Norway’s biggest ski resort

Trysil lies in Innlandet, and Trysilfjellet is considered Norway’s biggest ski resort. The mountain has slopes on several sides, so you can follow the sun through the day, and many places to stay are right on the slopes. That makes Trysil one of the most family-friendly ski resorts in Scandinavia.

The slopes: something for everyone

Trysil has everything from gentle nursery slopes to steep black runs. There are dedicated areas for children and beginners, terrain parks for those who want to jump, and long, wide descents that suit the whole family.
