Which cabin to book
Aurora Cabin (about 29 m², up to 4 people): a detached cabin with a heated glass roof, a double or twin bed and a double sofa bed. The heating keeps snow and frost off the glass.
Aurora Suite (about 44 m², up to 5): more space, the same heated glass roof and a private sauna. The best choice for a family or for a longer stay.
Every cabin has a fireplace, and the bathrooms have heated floors and rain showers. The cabins stand up to about 200 metres from the reception building.
Our advice: for a couple, the Aurora Cabin gives you everything you need. If you want a sauna in your own cabin after a cold evening outdoors, book the Aurora Suite.

The northern lights at Northern Lights Village Levi
The village lies in the forest away from Levi, so the sky is much darker than in the resort. You can watch for the aurora from bed under the glass. The season runs from about September to March. Clouds are the biggest risk, so book at least three nights. The resort sells husky, reindeer, snowmobile and snowshoe safaris, including evening trips in search of the northern lights.
Eating: breakfast is a buffet, and Restaurant Kota serves lunch and dinner. Half board is available through some UK tour operators.
Getting there from the UK
Fly direct to Kittilä: Finavia lists flights in winter 2026/27 from London Gatwick, Luton, Liverpool and Manchester, and several tour operators run charters from regional airports. The flight takes about three and a half hours. From Kittilä Airport it is about 25 minutes by road, and the resort runs a shuttle for a fee.

Our recommendation
Northern Lights Village Levi: a glass roof in the forest
The cabins at Northern Lights Village Levi stand in the forest about 15 minutes from Levi, far from the resort lights, each with a heated glass roof over the bed. Book at least three nights, and choose an Aurora Suite if you want a sauna of your own.
Our verdict
What Picolo would choose: an Aurora Cabin for a couple on a three or four night northern lights trip. For a family or a special occasion, choose an Aurora Suite with its own sauna.
Why: the heated glass roof and the dark forest setting make it one of the most reliable places in Finnish Lapland to watch the aurora from bed. Guests rate it highly too.
The trade-off: you are about 15 minutes from Levi village and its restaurants, so you depend on transfers or a hire car. If skiing is the main reason for your trip, Hotel Levi Panorama on the fell is a better base.
