Nermo Hotel – a historic hotel in Hafjell in Øyer

Some places embody something that is difficult to put into words. A calmness, soul and a feeling that traditions have been carried on here for a long time. Nermo Hotel in Øyer is one such place. The Nermo farm has been welcoming travellers since 1877. Today it is the fifth and sixth generations of the same family that are keeping the tradition alive with the same warmth and hospitality. This is precisely the kind of destination that cannot be copied.

What makes Nermo Hotel unique

It is easy to find a hotel with modern facilities. It is far more difficult to find one with soul. Nermo Hotel can deliver both. The main building from 1932 is beautifully situated in the Øyer landscape, but it is the storheouse suites which really makes the hotel extraordinary. Four suites have been crafted inside authentic storehouse buildings from 1730, with open fireplaces, heavy wooden log walls and an atmosphere that cannot be recreated. Nermo has for two years in a row been named among the top 25 most romantic hotels, on the same list as a palace on Florence and a castle in France. For those who know Nermo, that's not surprising.

For those looking for a unique hotel experience in Norway, Nermo Hotel is a natural stop.

The storehouse suites

Accommodation for every traveller

Nermo Hotel offers a wide range of accommodation alternatives, from hotel rooms and junior suites to spacious apartments that are great for longer stays, while the storehouse suites are perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or for an extra memorable holiday.

The location is a big plus. Hafjell Alpine Center is right outside the door, and the surrounding mountains offer excellent hiking and cycling in the summer. Øyer and Lillehammer are both within easy reach, and the magnificent nature of Gudbrandsdalen is beautiful in every season.

Food that tells a story

Restaurant Nermostuene has been serving guests since 1933. The menu is based on local ingredients, with moose from the mountains and herbs from the garden, and conveys a food culture that is naturally linked to the place and its history. It's not just a restaurant visit. It's part of the whole Nermo experience.

The hotel is also home to Vidsyn, a restaurant at the top of Hafjell mountain with a panoramic view of Gudbrandsdalen a thousand metres above sea level. In addition, there is a barbecue buffet, wine tasting and beer and champagne tasting for those who want something extra.

Winter is high season at Hafjell, and Nermo Hotell has been named Norway's best boutique skiing hotel by the World Ski Awards ten years in a row since 2016. The ski bus takes you straight to Hafjell with 19 lifts and 50 kilometres of alpine trails. From Mosetertoppen, you have access to 600 kilometres of cross-country trails all the way to Sjusjøen. But the hotel is at least as good in the summer, when the mountains invite you to enjoy biking and hiking in calm surroundings when the sun is up until late in the evening.
