Just steps from the beach surrounding the hotel lies a colourful house reef, which is home to around 550 underwater species. In fact, a number of turtles live around the island. If you are not so fond of diving, the resort is also the perfect place for snorkelling. Kayangan Lake is close to the hotel and is known as the cleanest lake in Asia. The sea is Palawan's main attraction, making it one of the most photographed places in the Philippines. The resort is happy to arrange island hopping trips for its guests.

Health and meditation in focus

The hotel has its own spa. The Glow Spa offers a variety of treatments. Here, you can enjoy natural well-being while minimising your footprint. Only 100 percent natural coconut oil is used, rather than synthetic fragrant oils that can harm the environment or irritate the skin. Clean oil is extracted from the coconut by gently boiling it for at least three hours. The coconut is sourced by women from Barangay Cheey in Coron, Palawan. The scheme provides a livelihood for the women and helps support the local community.

Bats in the trees

A number of bats live on the island itself. The bats sleep in the trees during the daytime, before waking towards evening, flying across to the mainland to hunt prey.  It is quite a sight to see them. There are also lizards that wander around the island. These are just some of the species that live free and untamed around the hotel.

The resort and its staff protect the island's surrounding waters from illegal fishermen and preserve the reef and its marine ecosystem. The resort’s beach coast is a nesting site for Hawksbill sea turtles and green sea turtles. Nesting turtles visit every year from November to January. About 200 baby turtles are released back into the sea.

The Firefish restaurant also has vegan dishes on the menu, as well as local meat and seafood dishes.
