Uncork the wines from the popular series Drops of God
If you want to drink wine as good as the wine experts Issei and Camille in the much-talked-about Japanese TV series, just save this list. Here are 12 wines from Drops of God.
Drops of God (Kami no Shizuku, in Japanese) on Apple+ has become a global success. The series was initially a 2004 manga (Japanese comic) that became a big hit in Japan and France.
Almost 20 years later, the series has reappeared, this time as a TV series over 8 episodes and with an overall score of 8.0 on IMdB.
Blind testing wine to secure millions
In the original story, main character Kanzaki travels the world in search of some of the most valuable wine bottles, known as 'the 12 apostles'.
In the new series, which has been given a personal twist, we follow the main characters Issei Tomine (Tomohisa Yamashita) and Camille Léger (Fleur Geffier). When her seemingly ruthless father passes away, he leaves behind the world's largest wine collection in his will. The collection is worth a tremendous fortune. Camille and Issei, who are their father's former pupils, must compete for the inheritance. A competition will be set up to blind test wine and to see who can identify both its name and vintage the fastest.
The action takes place in Japan, France, and Italy, and it is there you must head to seek out the exquisite wine from Drops of God.
According to The Drink Business, there has been a sharp increase in interest in the wines featured in the series, especially in Japan and Korea. (Spoiler alert: The wine list below may contain spoilers, so don't read on if you haven't seen the series yet!)
